Please make a list of your allergies and give it to the doctor on the day of the surgery. If you are on any medications please consult your doctor about them. Please bring a list of your medications with you on the day of the surgery.
When you arrive at the Center on the day of your surgery, you will be taken to the pre-operative area and asked to change into a hospital gown. Your doctor, nurse or anesthetist will visit and inform you regarding the anesthesia that will be administered to you during surgery. You will be taken into surgery about 30 minutes prior to surgery.
After Your Surgery
You will be taken back to the recovery room for further monitoring for a short time. During this time you will be assisted by the nurse for any activity, such as getting out of bed. Ask the nurse for assistance.
You must meet certain criteria before being discharged. A responsible adult must be present at the time of discharge to assist you in getting home. An attendant will be there to support you for the next 24 hours. A nurse will call on you the day after the surgery to check your progress. Should you have any questions or problems in the interim, please contact your surgeon/anesthetist immediately.
